What fooled Satan into killing Jesus? Why would he kill Jesus and let the price be paid to free us if he knew Jesus was the Son of God?
What fooled him was his own reasoning. And it wasn’t just that once that God fooled Satan. No, God did it over and over.

E-43 Catch this, many times God’s program is so simple that it goes all the way over the head of people. Look like if you’d just say, “Well now, look like we could have a do this or do that.” Don’t look at it at all. Just obey the Holy Spirit, no matter what He says you do it.
Here was God, manifested in flesh, going up Calvary, bleeding, blood dragging out behind Him over the cross, dragging out His footprints. God…
The devil said, “God couldn’t do a thing like that. Well looky there, how could God be manifested in Him, defeated. Look at the mockery spit on His face.”
Wonder if we as Christians could do that? Can you go the second mile? Can you turn the cheek the other side? That’s the way to test Christianity. See how far you can go in love, fellowship, and brotherhood. That’s how you test Christianity. You can say, “From that time on, I know I was changed.” When you can do that.
E-44 “Could that be God. Could that be God’s Son, going there? Jehovah made manifest in flesh? Going up there with handfuls of beard pulled out of His face? Why, no one could stand that. Mockery, spit in His face. My agents smote Him on the head and said, ‘Now, if You be a prophet. You’ve got some kind of a make-up work, You–You’ve got some way–a hoax You put on the people. Now, if You be a real prophet, tell us who hit You, and we’ll believe You.’ Naw, He couldn’t be God.”
Here He goes on up, and when He gets up there on the cross, they nail Him to the cross. And the devil said, “I got Him now.”
After while weakness begin to set in from loss of Blood. What was it? The bee of death was buzzing around Him, fixing to sting Him. That bee of death coming around Him, and saying, “Oh, I doubt that. How could He be virgin born? How could God dwell like that? Great Jehovah God, Who has all powers in heavens and earth, let somebody spit in His face, and take Him on like that? He couldn’t be. I’ll sock the stinger into Him.”
Brother, he didn’t know what he done. When he put his stinger into that flesh, it took his stinger out.

The Bible says Satan knows the Word and trembles at it. Yet, he couldn’t tell Jesus was the Son of God. It happened and is happening again today. Satan knew the Word and yet had no adea who God was when He showed up in front of Him. Satan had another idea of what God would be like when He come to pay the price for us. It was that idea that fooled him. And it’s those same ideas that he feeds people.

E-24 The devil takes his spirit–or, his man, but never his spirit. Them same teachers back there that condemned Jesus Christ, they were scholars to the minute. They were far beyond our seminary students today in the Word. They were holy men. No one could put a hand on them; they had to be holy; they had to be righteous; they had to be blameless; but yet, powered by Satan, didn’t recognize the Son of God and condemned and killed Him. That’s right. And that spirit lives on today. People who are just as fundamental, just as scholarly and teacher as they can be, having a form of godliness and denying the power thereof… The Bible said, from such turn away. Brother, they know the Word so perfect, just set It in order, lay It out there in such a masterpiece; yet know no more about God than a Hottentot would know about a Egyptian knight. That’s right. Only thing they know, just the Word. The letter killeth; the Spirit giveth life. It’s life comes by the Word made manifest.
“Go ye into all the world and manifest the power to all nations”: Mark 16. Preach the Gospel, not teach the Word; preach the Gospel. The Gospel is not through teaching the Word; it’s the Word made manifest. These signs shall follow them that believe. They shall cast out devils, and heal the sick, and great signs and wonders… You see it? There it is; the Gospel made manifest. “Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world”: Louisville, Kentucky, on this very Saturday night. “And wherever two or three are gathered in My Name, I’ll be in their midst. And the things that I do, shall you also; even more than this, for I go to My Father. Yet a little while, the world will see Me no more; yet ye shall see Me, for I’ll be with you, even in you, to the end of the world.” Such a promise. Wonderful. All right.

You couldn’t put a finger on the lives of those priest and they knew the scripture way beyond the scholars today and yet the prophet said they was powered by Satan.

E-26 Sometimes trials are brought upon us. People say, “Oh, I wished I didn’t… God. If I’m a Christian, why did this happen Brother Branham?” God let that come upon you, so He could show your–His love to you. So He could prove to you, “I’m the Resurrection and Life.”
Death says, “I got a right.” The king’s commission is to drown all the babies, put them in the ocean.
She said, “I’m putting him in the ocean, or in the–the waters under this, by revelation. I have prepared a way of escape.” Amen. And she laid him in death. And faith bought him out and made him the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, and made her the nurse. See how God did? God altogether was working to His own glory and just putting it right under Satan’s nose, and saying, “I just want to show you just how blind you are, Satan.” Put the baby right under his face and made Satan feed him and take care of him, and nourish him up for the very man was going to destroy the whole nation and lead the people to victory. Hallelujah. Oh, our God is marvelous. Have faith. Stronger than death? Certainly faith is stronger than death. So here goes the power of faith moving.

Isn’t that something? God is ALWAYS working under Satan’s nose. Doesn’t the scripture say that all things work together for good to them that love the Lord?
All things, not just some things! Even right now as I type these words Satan is being fooled again because of his carnal reasoning.
And all that any of us were ever born with is that same carnal reasoning. How we should thank God that He bought us back! So that we might realize God in the hour that He makes Himself living. All through the ages God has opened the eyes of a few and with the same actions blinded the rest to what is happening.
Oh sinner friend, lay down your reasoning and look to Christ and depend on Christ and your eyes will be opened. Don’t try to interpret it. God interprets it. We must be that spiritual wife that is looking to her spiritual husband for complete leadership.
